Tied with Raffia is a store-based business located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.  We’re about 12 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh.

I started out making lotions and soaps as a hobby for my friends and family in 1998.  This hobby began after years of studying herbs and vitamins and the effects they had on the skin. It wasn’t long after when I started getting requests for my products from other people.  It was then that I decided to turn my hobby into a business.  Soon I had a work shop built in my house and what started out with just soaps and lotions turned into bath, body, scented gift products, soy products, gift baskets and still keeps growing. 

One of the most frequently asked questions is "How did you come up with the name Tied with Raffia?"  When I first started bottling and packaging my products, I always tied on a piece of raffia.  Soon people started recognizing my products by the raffia.  The name seemed to fit and it caught on very quickly.  Now I have my raffia tied around my logo and still on some of my products.

All of our bath & body products are packed with good, natural ingredients, including herbs, essential oils & extracts, vitamins, moisturizing skin oils and butters.  These ingredients were carefully chosen for their beneficial, effective, and gentle properties.  Our scented gifts are made with 100% pure fragrance oils and cured for the best possible fragrance throw.  Each product is tested over and over before added to our line.  We also hand-make all of our products in small batch process so you can be sure you are getting a fresh product each time you place an order.

Since everyone is different in mind and body, we offer a choice of fragrances as well as unscented versions for those of you with allergies or a preference for your own perfume or cologne.  We also offer dye-free versions for those who have sensitivities to dyes.
